Background
This is the other two album set of
their "greatest hits" released on the
same day as The Beatles 1962-1966. This
set covers their studio years from
experimentation to the break up with
some album tracks thrown in. The album
cover photo was to have been the
original cover of the
Get Back album, but it wasn't used. For
the Get Back cover, the Beatles wanted
to pose in the same fashion as they did
on their first album Please Please Me.
What a difference seven years made on
the Beatles!! On the
charts, this set did better overall than
the 1962-1966 set did.
