Background

Beatles VI was Capitol records seventh Beatles album (or was it the other way around??). Anyways, this indeed was Capitol's seventh Beatles album though the title suggests someone at Capitol records couldn't count. Or maybe The Beatles Story wasn't considered an actual release.

Capitol records put together this Beatles album using tracks left over from the Beatles For Sale album in England with tracks slated for the as-yet-unreleased Help! album in England as well as one song recorded by the Beatles primarily for the American record market (Bad Boy), and one song as the B side to the Ticket To Ride single (Yes It Is). Capitol was in such a hurry to release this album that they didn't have a final running order for the album. Thus, they put disclaimers on the first batch of albums saying "see label for correct playing order".

Whatever the case, Beatles VI became a top seller with all three record charts placing it at #1.
