Sie Liebt Dich b/w I'll Get You

Background

EMI's German branch, Odeon records had appealed to both manager Brian Epstein and producer George Martin to have the Beatles record their hits in the German language. The Beatles records hadn't been selling quite as well in Germany, so eventually the Beatles wound up recording two of their biggest hits She Loves You (Sie Liebt Dich) and I Want To Hold Your Hand (Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand) in January, 1964 at the Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris, France.

In America, Swan records had the rights to the Beatles English version She Loves You. Because of this, Swan automatically controlled the rights to the German version of the song (Capitol records got Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand, and placed the song on their album Something New). This German sung Beatles song didn't work with the public, with Billboard putting the single just inside their Hot 100.
