Matchbox b/w Slow Down

Background

Capitol records next single was a pair of cover tunes The Beatles did for the British EP titled Long Tall Sally. In America, these two songs were from the Capitol album Something New.

Both of these songs did pretty well on the charts, but these cover songs weren't quite up to the quality of material The Beatles were writing for themselves during mid-1964. All three charts had Matchbox as the A-side while Slow Down became the B-side. Slow Down went as high as number 25 on Billboard, number 34 on Cash Box, and number 23 on Record World.
