After several months of changes and delays, the collection of songs originally recorded in January 1969 were about to be released. The title Get Back was kind of outdated, so the title of the album and movie was changed to Let It Be.

Critics felt that upon hearing the test pressings of the album in 1969, the song Let It Be would probably be the likely choice as the first single. This McCartney-sung ballad immediately went to the top of the three charts, even keeping John Lennon's solo single Instant Karma from hitting the top spot itself.
