You're Going To Lose That Girl

Background

This single, which was pulled from the Love Songs compilation album, is being shown here despite the fact that the single ended up not being released. At one point, Capitol was going to release this single. Promotional copies of the single were even sent out to radio stations across America. However the record was pulled at the last minute.

Two possible reasons exist as to why this single never was released. One reason may be the fact that the album Love Songs wasn't doing as well as had been expected, and that this single wasn't possibly the right choice to help boost sales of the album. The other reason might have to do with the song titles. Capitol may have held the Girl single back because of causing confusion among fans with two singles of which three songs contained the word Girl in the title (the other single in question was a Paul McCartney and Wings song titled Girls School). Despite the fact that radio stations were already playing the Beatles single Girl, the single itself was never officially released.
