Get Back b/w Don't Let Me Down

Background

For the Beatles first single of 1969, the group chose the only "finished" product they had from the Get Back sessions. Plans were in the works at this time for an album titled Get Back and a television special. This back-to-basics rocker from Paul McCartney went straight to the top of all three charts. This single is also credited to keyboardist Billy Preston, who plays organ on both Get Back and Don't Let Me Down. Only Billboard charted the B-side John Lennon's beautiful Don't Let Me Down raising it as high as number thirty-five.
