Background

Once again, Vee Jay tried to interest America in this new British sensation called The Beatles. The song From Me To You was written by both John and Paul while on a British tour in 1963. The inspiration for the song came from a letters column in the British music newspaper New Musical Express titled "From You To Us."

For this first go-round however, the single failed to chart on Record World and Cash Box, with Billboard placing it onto their charts as high as number 116. Oddly enough, From Me To You would surface again some eight months later, this time as the B-side to another Beatles single Please Please Me. This time, the results would be different.
